Hebrews 5:8-9 8. Although He was a Son, He learned [active, special] obedience through what He suffered 9. And, [His completed experience] making Him perfectly [equipped], He became the Author and Source of eternal salvation to all those who give heed and obey Him, [Isa.45:17] As I read these scriptures (EDLB) I not only remember the wonderful message from Joyce Meyers (http://www.godpreach.com/joyce-meyer-surrendering/) but also what it was that the Son of God has gone through and suffered and then surrendered all to God for not His own will to be done, but for God’s will to be done. You see, we may think we know what is good for us or strive to get what we think we want. But we have to keep in mind that our FATHER in heaven knows best. All we are going to do is make choices that we think are good, but that good only lasts but a few moments or days. If we go to God and ask for His will to be done, then we can rest assure that God’s will is so much better and lasts eternally. God loves all of us. As our Father, He will let us make our choices, that’s the free will part. We will fail each and most every time. But that’s okay sometimes because, if we didn’t fail how would we learn? If we didn’t come short of the Glory of God, Who could we call out to for forgiveness and help.  Think about it…we ask in prayer for something that we want so badly that we don’t think we can live without it, we receive it and it brings on suffering, pain, and maybe even anger. And if we asked for it to be in God’s will that we receive it and don’t get it, we get mad at the Father. You know something, I am so happy that I didn’t receive a lot of what I asked for. Because God had something so much better and so much more worthy and deserving for me. He has a beautiful plan for all of us. We just got to surrender ourselves to Him and wait for the plan to unfold before us. Trust in God, Obey Him, and Wait on Him and you can’t loose.
